President Lungu to commission US$100m NFCA project

President Edgar Lungu is on the Copperbelt for a two day working visit.

The Head of State is also expected to commission the South-East Ore Body Project for China’s Non Ferrous Africa Mining Corporation (NFCA) in Chambishi, Kalulushi District.

The Non Ferrous Africa Mining Corporation has spent US$100 million this year towards the development of the South East Ore Body Mine at its Chambishi unit in Zambia as it seeks to expedite the project.It is estimated that when the project is complete more than 5,000 jobs will be created.

And while on the Copperbelt, President Lungu is scheduled to inspect developmental projects in Kitwe and Chingola districts including the Chingola – Solwezi Road.

Later when he addressed Chingola residents, President Lungu assured the people of Zambia that he remains committed to transforming the country.

He says he decided to tour the Copperbelt just to appreciate some of the key projects being undertaken by the government.

President Lungu has also advised contractors against doing shoddy works saying Zambians deserve better.

He is further cautioning Zambians against stealing stone base and other construction materials.
