Government has advised that Zambian Honey Farmers need to be sensitized more about the newly found market in China.
Zambia and China on Saturday September 1, 2018 signed four agreements including a protocol on export of Zambia’s honey to the south-east Asian country.
Zambia’s honey is set to penetrate the world’s biggest economy as it will soon hit Chinese supermarket shelves.
The development came after President Lungu and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping facilitated the signing of three memoranda of understanding.
Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Malanji says it is up to the country to see how best the production of the commodity can meet up with the market demand.
Mr. Malanji has also called on the line ministries in the country to engage each other on how they can explore cooperating partners and harness a high level of collaboration.
He was speaking when addressing the Media in Beijing where he, the Head of State and other senior government officials were attending the Forum on China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) which came to a close 2 days ago.
