Zambia advised to market tourism sector

Ukwenda Travels Zambia Limited, a travel agent, says the government should invest heavily in tourism marketing.

Organization Business Development Manager Kosam Kalawa tells Money FM News that Zambia should emulate countries that are doing well because they have marketed their tourism well.

Mr. Kalawa says Zambia has potential to grow the tourism sector which in turn would contribute to economic development.

He feels that this can only be achieved if the government funds tourism marketing heavily.

“Government should do enough to market Zambia’s tourism sector on the international market. We have countries like Tanzania that has marketed its tourism sector very well to the international market, we can do the same if we are to grow the sector,” he said.

Mr. Kalawa states that Zambia should market its tourism to countries such as China, United States of America, Germany and UK.
