Ndola Council constructing two markets

The Ndola City Council has embarked on the construction of markets in the city.
Council Public Relations Manager Tilyenji Mwanza tells Money FM News that the Local Authority is currently constructing a market in Chifubu and two markets in Mushili.
Ms Mwanza discloses that the construction of the Chifubu market is being done by the Zambia Army and after completion will be able to accommodate at least four hundred marketeers.
“As at present the casting of the concrete footing has been completed awaiting the next stage which is the construction of the plinth walls and columns which will be done immediately the casted concrete cures,” she said.
Meanwhile the Ndola City Council is also on schedule for the construction of the Mushili market shade and stores.
Ms Mwanza says the casting of the slab has also been done as well as the purlins on one side of the shelter.
She adds that the alignment of the remaining purlins on the other side of the shelter has commenced and is in accordance with the instruction issued to the contractor.
The Ndola City Council Spokesperson says the Mushili market will also accommodate at least four hundred marketeers, while the many Salaula (second hand) clothing sellers will be required to take up the market stores.
Ms Mwanza says both projects are scheduled for completion before the start of next year 2019.
