Hotel and Lodge owners operating in Siavonga District of Southern Province have been urged to improve their structures in order to promote tourism in the district.
Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama says the current structures in the town are demeaning the status of Siavonga being a tourist attraction town.
“To this effect the Siavonga Town Council, town planner and building inspectors must quickly stop unplanned structures being constructed in hotels and lodges. These officials must with immediate effect stop approving structures or buildings of poor standard in the district,” he directed.
He has observed the need for investors in the hospitality industry to modernize their structures in order to attract more tourists to visit the district as they sample some of the tourism sites in the district.
