ZRA hopeful to surpass 2018 tax revenue collection target

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is optimistic that it will surpass the tax revenue collection target this year.
ZRA Corporate and Communications Manager Topsy Sikalinda says this is evidenced with the records of exceeding the targets for the previous quarters.
Mr. Sikalinda recalls that the authority in exceeded revenue collection target for the first quarter of this year by over K790 million.
He says with the days remaining before the end of the year, ZRA is still confident that with the help of taxpayers, it will be able to meet the target of revenue collection.
The ZRA Corporate Communications Manager has also encouraged clients who have obtained the TPINs to submit them to their respective banks before the December 31st deadline.
“There is still time for those that have not yet obtained the TPINs to do so before the December 31st deadline as this process is not complicated and can finish within 3o minutes. We also want to encourage those that have already obtained the TPINs to submit them to their respective banks to avoid being caught in the web,” said Mr. Sikalinda.
He also disclosed that the authority has gone electronic as it has reached over 95 percent of the banks in Zambia who are using ZRA e-payment system.
Mr. Sikalinda was speaking when he featured on Money FM Business Radio’s ‘Power, Policy and Money Programme’ that airs Mondays and Thursdays at 9hrs.
