We’ll be careful in listing ZAFFICO on LUSE- Lungu

President Edgar Lungu says government will be careful with the listing of the Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation ZAFFICO Limited on the Lusaka Securities Exchange.
Speaking at the Launch of the ZAFFICO Forest Plantation in Kasama today, President Lungu says government was careful and prudent when listing Zambia Consolidated Copper Mine ZCCM on LUSE a direction it will take for ZAFFICO.
President Lungu adds that government has managed to maintain state owned companies in the state they were found under the second republic, and that it has also managed to revamp other industries.
President Lungu says government intends to List about thirty-three state owned companies on LUSE in an effort to make them more viable, transparent and expose them to more avenues of raising capital.
He says the parastatal company is currently implementing three main national projects that are significantly contributing to wealth and job creation in the country.
And speaking at the same event Lands and Natural Resources Minister Jean Kapata says investment in forestry will not only mitigate the effects of climate change, but will create wealth and jobs and contribute to the country’s economy.
Ms Kapata further urged the private sector in the country to take a lead and mobilize financial resources to invest in tree planting exercise.
