Govt upgrading Lusiwasi Power Station

The Central Province Administration says government is upgrading of Lusiwasi Power Station to improve power supply in the province.
Central Province Minister Sydney Mushanga says this is aimed at supporting the economic activities in the province.
Mr. Mushanga also indicates that an investor is constructing 120 megawatts of solar power in Mumbwa District.
“In the health sector, an Indian Investor wants to construct a 750 bed capacity in Central Province which will be between Chibombo and Chisamba. As you may be aware that Kabwe General Hospital has been turned into a Central Province Hospital. These investment activities are coming as a result of the October Investment Forum and Expo that the province hosted,” he said.
The Central Province Minister has also disclosed that President Edgar Lungu is this Thursday expected in Kabwe to commission the multi-million Momboshi Dam to support irrigation farming.
He says the dam will support 6, 000 hectors of land with 3, 000 supporting small scale farmers and the remaining 3, 000 for commercial farmers.
Mr. Mushanga also disclosed that the Kapiri Glass Factory will be worked on to increase economic activities in the province.
