Increasing flights into Zambia positive for economy – EAZ

The Economic Association of Zambia (EAZ) says the increase in Zambia’s airline industry is repositioning the country as a transport hub.
EAZ National Secretary Mutisunge Zulu has told Money FM News in an interview that as a region hub, Zambia needs a network of flights that will bring the airport to life.
Mr. Zulu says the improved airport infrastructure at the three international air ports has contributed to the increase in the number of airlines operating in the country.
He says the increase in the number of flights to Zambia will also see an increase in the number of Tourists visiting the country from various countries.
Mr. Zulu says the increase in the air flights to Lusaka will bring about competitiveness, a situation that will see a reduction in the cost of flights and encourage more Zambian people to use air transport.
He says the relaunching of the Zambia airways is another good thing that will help boost businesses such as the Horticulture and the exportation of goats to Saudi Arabia.
