The Egyptian Embassy in Lusaka says it will from 17th to 20th March, 2019 host a business delegation from the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) coming to hold several investment and cooperation meetings with Zambian government officials and their industries’ counterparts.
Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia, Ahmed Mostafa, said the delegation will comprise representatives of more than 15 Egyptian companies in various industries and a number of meetings have been arranged in particular fields of the group’s interest.
Mr. Mostafa stated that part of the meeting will be business to business forum to be held in Lusaka on Tuesday, 19th of March.
He added that at the same forum the Federation of Egyptian Industries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Zambia Chambers of Commerce and Industries (ZACCI) for cooperation.
The Ambassador has encouraged players in the Zambian industries to attend the B2B meeting and expand their businesses.
Ambassador Mostafa said the delegation’s visit will boost cooperation opportunities, business expansion and accelerate diplomatic relations of the two countries.
He further said that the delegation will not only look for cooperation in import and export services but look out for investment opportunities such as partnerships.
He further said for the delegation to come to Zambia it has seen potential cooperation in the local industries and if investment becomes a reality it would not only create more jobs and pay more taxes but it would bring more transfer of technology and skills to benefit local people.
He said Egyptian government has put up a policy of promoting investment in Africa and this visit is one of them.
Among the delegations’ field of interests are agriculture, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, Agro Chemicals, Food Processing, Printing and Packaging, Petroleum, Engineering, Wood processing and Construction industries.
The Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) is one of the country’s largest employers’ associations, with 20 industrial chambers as members, representing over 60,000 industrial enterprises out of which more than 90% belong to the private sector; accounting for more than 7 million workers and 20% of the national economy.
