The Zambian International Trade & Investment Centre (ZITIC) has urged government to lure more investors to invest in Zambia’s agro-processing sector.
And the center has welcomed intentions by Turkey’s Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen Association to establish an agro-processing equipment manufacturing and assembly plant in Zambia.
Association Vice President Mehmet Hilmi said his organization has devised a plan to strengthen business and trade relations with Zambia.
But ZITIC Chief Executive Officer Sebastian Kopulande tells Money FM News that Zambia needs such kind of investment in strengthening agro-processing sector.
Mr. Kopulande said Zambia has being focusing on growing the agriculture sector for quite some time now.
He added that there is still more work to do in maximizing the full potential of this sector.
Mr. Kopulande however, noted that the value that the country gets from the agriculture sector is limited.
He said there is further need to promote value addition in the agriculture sector.
