Cannabis not for hair growth – DEC

The Drug Enforcement Commission in Eastern Province has unearthed a scam in which a businessman has been producing and selling petroleum jelly laced with cannabis powder to some women in Chipata district as a hair growth cream.
DEC public relations officer Theresa Katongo has identified the suspect as Samson Tembo aged 26 years old.
Ms. Katongo says Tembo has been arrested and charged with trafficking in twenty-nine balls of loose cannabis and 26 by 25 gram jars of petroleum jelly laced with cannabis powder.
She has warned Members of the public against using cannabis as a cosmetic or hair growth agent as manufacturing and unlawful use of such Substances is illegal.

Meanwhile Ms. Katongo says the Commission in Lusaka has arrested two Nigerian nationals for trafficking in various drugs.
She explains that the two suspects are identified as Arinze Obi, 36, a businessman of Mtendere compound and Chinonso Abakwam, 30, a businessman of Kamwala South, arrested and jointly charged for trafficking in compressed cannabis weighing eighteen (18) kilograms as well as two (2) sachets and 163 tablets of Methylphenidate.

The Public relations officer tells Money FM news in a statement that all the suspects are currently in Police custody and will appear in court soon.
