Africa to gain financial independence

The Campaign for Financial Independence in Africa (CampaignFIA) has noted that financial freedom has remained a desire for most African countries to achieve despite having achieved a level of political freedom.
Interim Chairman of the Board of Advisers for the Campaign Dr Edem Adzogenu the campaign has been launched in honor of Zambia’s first republican president Dr. Kenneth Kaunda as the driver of the struggle for economic independence.
The son to the former Head of State, Tilyenji Kaunda says in a statement that the fight for economic independence and equality in Africa is the defining issue of this generation.
Mr. Kaunda has described the CampaignFIA, as an African solution to an African problem.
The Campaign for Financial Independence in Africa (CampaignFIA) plans to work with governments, development agencies and financial institutions to roll out the programme into the basic education curricula of all 54 African countries.
As partners, the CampaignFIA will be collaborating with the African Union, the African Development Bank Group and the Afreximbank.
