“I don’t think one case against a minister can affect investor confidence” – Govt spokesperson.

Government is of the view that one court case against a minister cannot bring down the confidence of investors for the country.
Chief Government Spokesperson Dora Siliya says that the fact that Zambia is able to prosecute ministers should enhance and not drain investor confidence.
Ms. Siliya says prosecuting politically inclined individuals is something that does not happen in other jurisdictions and that all well meaning democracies understand that a person is innocent of any crime until proven guilty.
Housing and Infrastructure development Minister Ronald Chitotela was recently acquitted of corruption charges after being arrested and charged twice by the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Mr. Chitotela was once fired for corruption under the leadership of President Michael Sata, May His Soul Rest in Peace.
