The Ministry of Housing and infrastructure Development has noted that it is unbecoming for institutions such as the Road Development Agency RDA to be cited in the Auditor General’s report for lacking a strategic plan to guide its operations.
Minister in charge Vincent Mwale says there are a lot of institutions cited in the reports due to lack of strategic documents.
Mr. Mwale has further expressed confidence that the agency will no longer be cited in the reports following the development of the 2019 to 2021 strategic plan has emphasized that focus should now be on successfully implementing the plan.
The Road Development Agency has in the last 3 years operated without a strategic plan having developed the latest one following the expiration of the 2012 to 2016 plan.
And RDA chairperson Samuel Mukupa says the latest plan will define and set out the medium-term trajectory for the agency.
Mr. Mukupa says sets out a roadmap for repositioning the Agency to effectively respond to the dynamic environment.
This was during the launch of the Road Development Agency Strategic plan 2019 to 2021 in Lusaka today that is aimed at achieving Road Infrastructure Excellence, financial sustainability, operational excellence and stakeholder management.
