The Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection urged Commercial Utilities to obtain title to their land and secure investments following and observation there have been a lot of land encroachment activities on most public institutions.
Ministry Permanent Secretary, Mabvuto Sakala also urged the public institutions to engage and sensitise communities when they intended to use any land and its benefits to the people.
Mr. Sakala said cabinet office issued a policy directive to all Government institutions to have title to their land that applied all institutions including schools and water utilities to make it easy for them to claim their land.
The Permanent Secretary emphasised the need for coordinated efforts in ensuring that the process of obtaining title for Government institutions was streamlined.
The Permanent Secretary said this in Kabwe when he inspected Mulungushi Dam water treatment plant, as part of his familiarization tour of Lukanga Water Supply and Sanitation Company.
