Chalube Volleyball Club coach left disappointed with team’s zone six quarterfinal loss.

Chalube Volleyball Club coach says he is disappointed with the defeat his side recorded against Support Unit of Zimbabwe at the ongoing Zone Six Volleyball Club Championships.

In an exclusive interview with Money Sports News, Assistant Superintendent John Mapulanga says the team did not play their best game when they came up against Support Unit who beat them 3-1 in the quarterfinals.

Assistant Superintendent Mapulanga says the players were complacent when they reached the quarterfinals hence the failed to live up to the expectations of the technical bench.

“Chalube was one of the favorites to win the tournament looking at the performance displayed in the group stages. It was maybe a psychological thing to the players who thought maybe they were already in the semifinals, the performance was very poor. It was one of the poorest performances by the team, I hope they can learn from what happened in the quarterfinals,” Mapulanga said.

He has since described the performances of the Zambian teams as impressive despite having only one team out of the five making the semifinals of the championships.

Zambia’s only remaining representative Indeni beat their compatriots Green Buffaloes 3-0 to reach the semifinals of the Zone Six Volleyball Championships where they will meet Zimbabwe’s Harare City at 16:00Hrs CAT.
