Poultry Association of Zambia observes stable chicken prices

Poultry Association of Zambia says it has not yet observed any movement in broiler chicken prices on the market this festive season.
Association Managing Director Dominic Chanda told Money FM News in an interview that in Lusaka prices for broiler chickens are in the range of K50 to K60, in other districts between K55 and K65.
Mr. Chanda said in Kasumbalesa Prices for live chickens were at K60.
“Pricewise, we have not seen any movement in terms of prices for the Chickens,” he said.
Mr. Chanda further revealed that the market is conducive at the moment as farmers have responded well to carter for both Christmas and New Year Celebrations with supply of chickens on the market.
“The market is very conducive at the moment for all the growers as you may know this is the time when people eat a lot of chickens,” he said.
