GEARS support calls for Electoral Indaba

Governance, Elections, Advocacy, and Research Services (GEARS) Initiative has supported calls by the Green Party for the country to hold an Electoral National Indaba.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, Organization Executive Director Macdonald Chipenzi said any efforts suggested to address any misunderstanding suspicions or misgivings within the electoral process must be welcomed and supported because it is the only way the country can face the General Elections with a clear mind that they will be held in an acceptable manner by majority stakeholders.
Mr Chipenzi added that holding an Electoral Indaba could help Zambia perfect its electoral process ahead of the August 12, 2021 elections.
He has since urged electoral stakeholders in the country to embrace the idea, and see how best they can make it come to fruition.
Green Party President Peter Sinkamba has called for the holding of an Electoral National Indaba in a quest to address a number of issues affecting the country’s electoral process.
