Biden presidency good for copper

An economist says Zambia stands to benefit from the presidency of Joe Biden through his policy of having green infrastructure in the world.
In an Interview with Money FM, Munyumba Mutwale said a push for green infrastructure will increase demand for Copper and other metals.
‘‘Joe Biden is not going to write us (Zambia) a giant cheque to bail us out,’’ Mr. Mutwale said.
‘‘The only thing that would help is that he is going to push for alot of green infrastructure which will push up demand for copper and other metals. ’’
Mr. Mutwale also noted that this is a good time for the country to get into the value chain as the green technological space has alot of opportunities.
‘‘This is a good time to get into the value chain as the presidency of Biden offers alot of opportunities in the green technological space,’’ he revealed.
During Campaigns last year, Joe Biden released a plan to put $2 trillion into green infrastructure and energy over four years.
Mr. Biden will today be sworn in as 46th president of the United States by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts outside the US Capitol.
