• Ministry of Health PS and five others have their contracts terminated with immediate effect.
• Four Permanent Secretaries transferred in recent reshuffle.
• President Lungu urges appointed Permanent Secretaries not to antagonise ministers as is the tendency with some PSs.
President Edgar Lungu has terminated the contracts of six permanent Secretaries with immediate effect.
The head of state fired Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Mrs. Mulalelo Kakulubelwa, Mr. Joe Kapambwe Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth, Sports and Child Development and Mr. Stardy Mwale Permanent Secretary Cabinet Office-Remuneration Division.
Others include; Northern Province Permanent Secretary Mr. Charles Sipanje, Bishop Ed Chomba Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government and Dr. Auxilia Ponga Permanent Secretary Ministry of Tourism.
And president Lungu also appointed Mr. Emmanuel Ngulube as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Mr Lennox Kalonde as Permanent Secretary Works and Supply, Dr. John Phiri as Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth, Sports and Child Development and Mr. Mathews Ngulube as Permanent Secretary Local Government.
ZANIS Director Mr. Patrick Lungu is now the new Permanent Secretary Tourism; Mr. Royd Chakaba , Deputy Permanent Secretary Luapula province, was elevated to the position of Permanent Secretary Northern Province while Captain Davison Mulenga, Deputy Permanent Secretary Northern Province, was promoted to Permanent Secretary Muchinga Province.
Meanwhile, Four Permanent secretaries were transferred in the recent civil service reshuffle.
Ms Agness Musunga was transferred from the Ministry of Works and Supply to Cabinet Office-Remunerations, Mr. Trevor Kaunda was moved from the Ministry of Energy to the Ministry of National Planning- Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Danies Chisenda was transferred from National Planning to Ministry of Energy and Ms Joyce Nsamba moved from Muchinga to Southern province.
President Lungu urged the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries not to fall prey to the growing tendency among some permanent secretaries of antagonising ministers as it has created a toxic environment in the ministries.
‘‘Let me reiterate that my government is in a hurry to deliver on its promises to the people of Zambia. And so, changes will be made as and when necessary,’’ he said.
‘‘Therefore, I expect hard work, professionalism and discipline from all of you as you take up your new positions.’’
