Newly appointed Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Works and Supply has appealed to members of staff in the Ministry to work as a team and not in isolation.
Speaking during the farewell meeting for former Permanent Secretary Ms. Agnes Musunga who has been transferred to Cabinet Office as Permanent Secretary Remunerations, Lenox Kalonde said that it is through team work that the Ministry will be able to deliver quality service to the Zambians.
“It is through team work that the Ministry will be able to deliver quality service to the Zambians,” he said.
And in recognizing the efforts that Ms. Musunga had rendered to the Ministry, Mr. Kalonde guided that the same support that was rendered to Ms. Musunga during her stay in office be rendered to him, further urging members of staff not to consider her as an outcast but regard her as one of the works family members.
“He has since guided that the same support that was rendered to Ms. Musunga be rendered to him adding that it is through team work that the Ministry will be able to deliver quality service to the Zambians” he said.
He further said he looks forward to everyone putting in their best so that the Ministry gets all the support required from Government.
However Ms Musunga has since thanked all the staff for dedicating their time and energy towards creating a firm foundation and called on all to give the full support to Mr. Kalonde whom she described as a seasoned civil servant.
Mr. Kalonde was Director for Human Resources in the Ministry of Local Government before President Edgar Lungu promoted him as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Supply.
