Kabwe Warriors in Bolabet’s US$120 000 3-year sponsorship bonanza

Zambia’s indigenous sport betting company Bolabet and Super League side Kabwe Warriors on Wednesday entered into a three-year sponsorship agreement.

Speaking during the signing ceremony held at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe, Bolabet General Manager Justin Palmer disclosed that the deal with Kabwe Warriors is highly incentivized and valued at over US$120,000 should Kabwe Warriors reach agreed upon milestones.

“The agreement that we have is a guaranteed US$120 000 over three years to Kabwe Warriors and it is highly incentivized. The money will go up if the team wins the Super League and qualifies to the CAF interclub competitions,” Palmer said.

Palmer said Kabwe Warriors will be receiving US$8000 per quarter over the next three years, the period in which the initial deal will run.

Palmer further disclosed that the incentives in the deal also include rewards for winning the Super League or qualifying for continental competition.

“Kabwe Warriors is a club defined by passion. The last few seasons have seen the Club pushing for titles, Bolabet hopes to assist Warriors in reaching their goals,” Palmer said.

“As Bolabet, we have the responsibility to support sports teams and societies in Zambia. The first team we thought of was Kabwe Warriors because we looked at competent organization, stable sponsorship from Zambia Railways and the supporters of the club.”

Kabwe Warriors chairman Hayden Dingwall said the partnership has come at the right time and hopes it will help push the team financially coupled with the main sponsors, Zambia Railways Limited’s package.

Dingwall is hopeful the sponsorship deal by Bolabet will grow from strength to strength as he urged fans to support the partnering company.

The deal sees Bolabet becoming Kabwe Warriors official Sports Betting partner. Bolabet will be visible on the back of the kit and replicas.

As part of the deal, Bolabet and Kabwe Warriors will work together on a strategy to bring the Bolabet offering to Kabwe Warrior’s supporters and the Kabwe community.

Last week, Bolabet announced sponsorship deals with Solwezi based Super League side Kansanshi Dynamos worth over US$100 000 with National Division One side Mufulira Wanderers getting a US$75 000 deal.
