EIZ report to determine the over 30 year old uncomplete structure

• Looking at things it looks strong but it’s just the eyes telling us.
• Quicken the process of completing the structure when EIZ report shows the integrity of the building is sound.
• I don’t think it is right to have a building that has been standing for over 30 years looking like this in the capital City.

Lusaka Mayor says the Local Authority will be waiting upon the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) report in regards to integrity of the building at the corner of Katondo Street and Freedom belonging to Royal Lutanda Limited.

Speaking when flagging off the disassembling of the crane attached to the building, Chilando Chitangala reveals the company did their due diligence in consultation with Lusaka City Council’s Engineering Services Department and Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) following correspondence from the company that they have hired a company to lower down the crane between 8th to 10th April 2022.

“Looking at things it looks strong but it’s just the eyes telling us and so we will have EIZ is test the building and give us a report.” said the City mayor.

The Mayor was happy that the crane would finally be detached as it posed a danger to the people within its vicinity.

“I don’t think it is right to have a building that has been standing for over 30 years looking like this in the capital City,” she said.

Meanwhile, Lusaka District Commissioner Rosa Zulu has called upon Royal Lutanda Limited to quicken the process of completing the structure when EIZ report shows the integrity of the building is sound.

Further, one of the Company Directors Micheal Pasquini has thanked the government and the Local Authority for been patient with them regarding the removal of the crane and completion of the building.
