Agency Head of Public Relations Frederick Mubanga revealed to Money FM News that RTSA held a consultative meeting with bus operators on Monday morning to consider a proposed reduction in bus fares following the drop in fuel pump price announced by Energy Regulation Board (ERB) last week.
Mr. Mubanga stated that the proposed reduction in bus fares will be effected after approval by all concerned stakeholders including the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.
He appealed to members of the public to wait patiently until the variation in fares is announced as guided.
“The meeting was attended by the Bus and Taxi’s Owners Association of Zambia (BTOAZ), Commuter Rights Association of Zambia (CRAZ) and Zambia Commuters Association (ZACA),” Mr. Mubanga said.
On 30th April, 2022, Energy Regulation Board (ERB) reduced fuel pump prices by K2.35 for petrol and K0.58 for diesel with effect from 1st May 2022.
