• There is need to draw the lesson from the implementation of the 2022 budget.

Zambian Empowerment Hub for Entrepreneurship and Skills Training (ZEHEST) has called for enhanced employment creation and business stimulation in the country.
Organization Executive Director Clarence Muzyamba told Money FM News that the best way to defeat unemployment is by investing in the education and skills development.
Mr. Muzyamba noted that currently, the old and new government ministries that were formed has a component that looks at the welfare of the youth but this has not fully been implemented as seen by high unemployment levels in the country.
“This calls for enhanced employment creation and business stimulation in the country in order to allow youths to be sustainable in their businesses and work,” Mr. Muzyamba said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Muzyamba urged government to ensure that benefits of the 2023 national budget trickle down to ordinary Zambians by being inclusive in its implementation regardless of their social background.
He stressed the need to draw the lesson from the implementation of the 2022 budget and ensure that the 2023 budget allocation is fully implemented on time.
“While we welcome the budget pronouncements in various sectors including employment, health, CDF and Education among others, the 2023 national budget, is by far the most progressive, generous, development focused , with the possibility of transforming Zambia as promised by the new dawn government whose election win was anchored on moving Zambia forward with good standards of the living culture”
“The 2023 budget will be a dead-on arrival commitment if the plight of the Zambian youths, women and persons with disabilities are left out, hence the need for us to remind government that youths form the majority of the population in Zambia and Africa. Therefore, the best way to defeat unemployment is by investing in the education and skills development,” he stated.
