- Copper Queens will play two friendly matches against Korea Republic
- Bruce Mwape will have a feel of Asian opposition
- Zambia is in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has secured two international friendly matches for the Copper Queens for the April FIFA Window against the Republic of Korea.
FAZ stated that the venue for the two friendly matches will be advised in due course with the dates being April 7 and 11.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala believes playing Republic of Korea will give the technical bench a test of Asian football as they will be playing a country from that region at the tournament.
“Every game that we play is tailored to prepare us for the opponents at the World Cup. Our Turkish international games were a great experience and we are also playing Republic of Ireland in June and Australia before the World Cup which is a busy but worth challenge for our girls,” Kashala said
South Korea is in Group H alongside Morocco, Colombia, and Germany. A match against Zambia will be an opportunity to face African opposition as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup. Korea Republic is ranked 15th in the World while Zambia is perched in the 81st position on the global charts.
At the World Cup which kicks off on July 20 in Australia and New Zealand, Zambia is in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica.
