At the end of the first day of trading on the Lusaka Stock Exchange, a total of 1,049,554 shares in 38 deals, corresponding to a market value of ZMW 3,884,221.45, were traded. Nine equities participated in trading. There were no gainers nor losers. MAFS recorded the highest volume of 809,195 traded shares, followed by BATA (150,900), NATB (42,400) and BATZ (30,607). Regarding the performance of LuSE market indices, the benchmark LuSE All Share Index (LASI) did not see any change, closing at the same mark as it opened at 5,373.99, representing a 1-week loss of 1.36%, a 4-week loss of 1.42%, but an overall year-to-date gain of 0.87%.
