Zambia’s Private Sector to Invest Regionally

The Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) says it is working to ensure that Zambia’s private sector participates at regional level by investing and exporting into the region.
ZAM President Roseta Chabala there is also need to ensure that businesses that invest in Zambia are supported by relevant institutions and should not be lost on premise that they are finding it difficult to conduct business in Zambia.
She says in an interview that the association will continue to support the growth of Medium and Small and Medium Enterprises in Zambia.
The Association President says this will be done through continued collaboration and discussions with the Government to ensure that they look into the challenges of the sector.
Ms. Chabala says institutions Such as the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) exist to ensure that investors are anchored in and continue to operate in the Country.
Zambia is ranked 87 among 190 economies in the ease of doing business, according to the latest World Bank annual ratings.
The rank of Zambia deteriorated to 87 in 2018 from 85 in 2017.
Ease of Doing Business in Zambia averaged 89.18 from 2008 until 2018, reaching an all time high of 99 in 2008 and a record low of 80 in 2010.
