Shops for street vendors almost done

The Regional Trade Initiative says 90% of works have been completed in the construction of shops for street vendors in Lusaka’s Down Town area.
Initiative President David Mwambazi has disclosed that the entire Project is being carried out at a total Cost of K5 million.
He says the shops are expected to be officially launched in February 2019.
The regional trade initiative is a project that is aimed at cushioning some of the challenges that local traders face.
It also aims to curb street vending in the country by building centralized trading places for the vendors.
He says once the works are completed in Lusaka, the organization is planning on taking the initiative to Livingstone.
Mr. Mwambazi says he has plans on expanding the project to the rest of the region in the long run.
He was speaking in a telephone interview with Money FM News in Lusaka.
