Invest in Cyber systems to curb corruption – ZYFAC

The Zambian Youths in the Fight Against corruption (ZYFAC) has noted the need to invest in cyber infrastructure in Zambia as a step in the fight against corruption in public service.
ZYFAC Executive director Maurice Malambo says this will reduce exposure of public servants to cash as over the counter payments will be reduced.
Mr. Malambo has also noted the need to invest in cyber literacy and security among Zambians as most of the population is not privy to cyber issues.
He has implored Smart Zambia to rollout the introduction of online payment systems in government departments as this will increase efficiency.
Mr. Malambo has cited the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) and the Zambia Police Service Traffic department which have introduced electronic payment platforms.
He adds that such systems are regarded to safeguard funds and reduce chances of misappropriation.
