ZRA borders to remain open for trade.

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) says all its borders will remain open for trade except Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe, Mfuwe and Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airports as pronounced by Government.

ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Topsy Sikalinda said all exporters, agents and handlers of consignments in transit whose Customs declarations were fully processed but the goods have not yet made exist or may wish to request for re-entry of their goods into Zambia, should report to any nearest ZRA Customs offices for guidance in view of the developments arising from the global effects of the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent closure of borders or lockdowns by some countries in Southern Africa.

Mr. Sikalinda also said ZRA Commissioner General, Kingsley Chanda is appealing to traders to observe all health and trade measures that have been announced by Government in order to protect the lives of all nations against the Corona virus pandemic.

“He further stated that it is everyone’s collective responsibility to ensure that we mitigate the risks of spreading the virus,” he said.

Mr. Sikalinda thanked Government for the effective health controls that have been implemented to ensure that there is safe movement of goods and people across borders.
