Southern Africa Cross Border Traders Association says Kazungula border post needs improved infrastructure.

The Southern Africa Cross Border Traders Association has observed the need for government to improve infrastructure on the Zambian side of the Kazungula border post.
Jacob Makambwe told Money FM News in an interview that improved border structures will respond to the regional integration agenda when it comes to parking and clearing of documents and allow Zambia to take advantage of the business that is growing in the facility.
“On the Kazungula part, we have actually seen that the infrastructure on the Zambian side needs to be improved.” He said.
Mr Makambwe added that the state of infrastructure at the border post has increased the risk of Coronavirus outbreak to the community with Quarantined truck drivers.
“As much as we would want to quarantine drivers that are coming through Botswana from South Africa for 14 days until they can be cleared, we have actually seen that the same truck drivers do not even have the facilities where they can say they are quarantined.” He said.

He said there is little parking space as well for the truck drivers at the border post.
