ACC arrests Health Minster

The Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested Minister of Health Dr. Chitalu Chilufya.

Confirming the development to Money FM News, Commission Corporate Affairs Officer, Jonathan Siame said Dr. Chilufya, 47, of House number 4, Robert Kennedy Close, Off Brentwood Avenue, in Lusaka, was arrested on Wednesday the 24th of June 2020.

Mr. Siame further said the Minister was charged with four counts of possession of property reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime contrary to section 71 sub section 1 of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act No. 19 of 2010.

“The arrest follows investigations the Commission has been conducting against the Minister in relation to the above allegations,” he disclosed.

Mr. Siame however disclosed that Dr. Chilufya has since been released on bond in his own recognizance and is expected to appear before the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court on 9th July 2020.
