Speaking during the 4th Inauguration of the ZEMA Board, Ministry Permanent Secretary Mabvuto Sakala explained that this is in accordance with the 2007 National Policy on Environment which aims at ensuring attainment of sustainable environmental management.

“Colleagues, am sure that you will agree that the policy which aims at ensuring attainment of sustainable environmental management is very critical to national development,” he said.
Mr. Sakala said it is in this regard that ZEMA was created to provide a robust institutional framework to ensure an integrated approach to environmental management and the use of natural resources to the benefit of the present and future generations.
