Parliamentarians battle for three points against Chingalika

A National Division One match that suffered a 24-hour delay involving National Assembly Football Club and Kitwe United due to delayed Covid-19 results will take off this afternoon at Lusaka’s Queensmead Stadium.

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) decided to push the match to this afternoon at the same venue following a delay in the availability of Covid-19 results for Kitwe United.

The match will be Kitwe United’s second encounter following a 2-1 home defeat suffered last Saturday to Police College Football Club while National Assembly will be playing their first encounter since the National Division One season resumed.

In a statement, FAZ said it will continue to liaise with the Ministry of Health for all the protocols in the management of the game.

“We have had to reschedule the match to Thursday in order to ensure that all the medical recommendations that we have committed to meeting are observed. All the involved parties have been consulted and are fully aware of circumstances behind the decision,” General Secretary Adrian Kashala said.
“Results for Kitwe United have delayed so we have had to act in the interest of the health of the players and everyone involved.”

The Association expressed delight with the progress made so far since the league resumed on July 18, 2020.

The match will kickoff at 15:00 Hours.
