Kitwe United beats National Assembly 1-nil

Kitwe United has beaten Lusaka based National Division One side National Assembly Football Club by 1-nil to go top of the League standings with 48 points.
The match which was originally slated for Wednesday was moved to today by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) due to delayed Covid-19 test results.
The match was played at Lusaka’s Queensmead Stadium and saw the Chingalika overcame last weekend’s defeat to Police College to out and collect maximum points via a lone goal scored by Motela Mulambya in the 35th minute.
The win sees the Kitwe side move top of the standings with 48 points, which is one better than second placed Prison Leopards and third placed Young Green Eagles who are both on 47 points.
Kitwe United’s next match will be against 15th placed Zesco Shockers in Mongu while second placed Prison Leopards will take on fifth placed Kafue Celtics as the race to win promotion to the Super League heats up.
