North-Western Province Farming Input Deliveries Completes

North Western Province Minister says deliveries of Farming inputs for the 2020/2021 farming season to his province has been completed.
In a statement obtained by Money FM News, Nathaniel Mubukwanu disclosed the development comes after Nyimba investment was contracted to supply 13,988 metric tons of D-Compound and 10,566 metric tonnes of Urea fertilizer for the whole 11 districts of North Western province.
“Unlike in the past when FISP was introduced what used to happen is that D Compound used to be delivered first but with the coming of Nyimba all inputs are delivered on time,” he said.
Mr. Mubukwanu said what remains now is for farmers to make the deposits and start collecting the fertilizer.
He has since urged farmers to embrace agriculture stressing that it is President Edgar Lungu’s desire to make it the main economic stay of the province.
“I urge our farmers to embrace agriculture the way President Lungu has done. He wants to make agriculture the main stay of our economy. If we are able to grow more food even when mining is not profitable, we will still have something to eat,” the Minster said.
