Join efforts & work towards Economic Recovery Programme, PMRC urges Citizens

Policy Monitoring and Research Centre (PMRC) has urged citizens to join efforts and work towards ensuring that the recently launched Zambia Economic Recovery Programme (EPP) is successful.
Organization Board Chairperson Margaret Mwanakatwe told Money FM News in a statement that citizens must take time to reflect on the country’s development trajectory and several interventions that have been instituted with the aim of ensuring that Zambia moves closer towards being a developed middle income nation by the year 2030.
Ms. Mwanakatwe further pledged the organization’s commitment to further deliver its mandate of promoting public understanding of policy and development issues, while also encouraging the citizenry to be patriotic and always put Zambia first.
“His Excellency, the President of the Republic recently launched the Zambia Economic Recovery Programme as a springboard towards a new trajectory of growth and development for Zambia. Fellow citizens, in order to ensure that the recovery programme is successful, we must all join our efforts and work towards realizing the vision that we have set for ourselves as a nation,” Ms. Mwanakatwe said.
She stated that PMRC remains committed to continuously work towards supporting Government institutions, agencies and development partners in developing evidence-based policy recommendations for the effective delivery of the national development agenda.
Ms. Mwanakatwe added that the Organization will commit to continue providing policy analysis to compliment the Government in the pursuit of prudent macroeconomic policies, increasing the economy’s resilience to shocks, and achieve higher and inclusive growth.
“With this pledge, we will continue to partner with all like-missioned institutions to bolster our efforts and work towards encouraging debate on social and economic policy issues critical to national development and economic transformation,” she stated.
