K250, 000 assured to St Mary’s Secondary School – DMMU

• Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu will do everything possible to support the Girl Child
• DMMU will engage a contactor within the district to rehabilitate works at a cost the Unit will fund.
• 120 desks that where destroyed will be replaced.

Disaster Mitigation and Management Unit (DMMU) says St Mary’s Secondary School in Kawambwa district, Luapula Province will tomorrow receive K250, 000 to support the girl child.
Speaking when he checked on the damaged school blocks at Saint Mary’s girls secondary in Kawambwa District DMMU National Coordinator Chanda Kabwe said government will do anything possible to support the girl child in a bid for them to contribute to the national economy and the growth of the country.
“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zambia, Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu will do everything possible to support the Girl Child,” he said.
Mr. Kabwe further informed the school management that DMMU will engage a contactor within the district to rehabilitate works at a cost the Unit will fund for ablution blocks among others.
“Before we get the actual cost we want to assure you that as soon as we get to Lusaka by Tomorrow (3rd March 2021) the school will receive K250, 000 to support the girl Child,” he said.
Mr. Kabwe added that the 120 desks that where destroyed will be replaced.
