The Push Women Network Lusaka Business Exposition has received K120, 000 boost from Savenda General Insurance Company.
Speaking during the presentation of the Cheque, Savenda Managing Director Irene Muyenga said it is the company’s major role to support such programs as they are aimed at enforcing social development.
Ms. Muyenga stated that the Insurance firm has decided to support the Expo taking into consideration the negative effects of Covid-19 on businesses and individuals.
“As Savenda, we thought we should take this opportunity for us to be able to support this noble cause because during Covid-19, a lot of business entities and individuals really suffered in terms of their businesses as well as individuals incomes reduced drastically, so we thought we should take this opportunity to try and bring the businesses together to be part of a team that will bring businesses together in order for them to share experiences and be able to chart a way forward because Covid is here to stay.
“We felt that it will also be an opportunity for us to meet other business entities and experts for us to share experiences and maybe learn one or two things from those who have managed to survive from this pandemic,” Ms. Muyenga said.
And Push Women Network Director Colonel Mwizukanji Namwawa thanked the insurance company for the donation which she said will go a long way in supporting the Lusaka Business Expo.
Colonel Mwizukanji explained that the Expo is aimed at empowering women led businesses by creating a meeting point for small and large scale entrepreneurs.
“We just want to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to Savenda General Insurance for coming on board the Lusaka Business Expo. This is an initiative that is intended to celebrate businesses and create a large meeting place for small businesses all the way to large businesses to come together and network to give ideas on solutions of how we are going in the post Covid future. One of the key objectives of the Expo is to support women led enterprises by partnering with organizations,” Colonel Mwizukanji said.
The Push Women Network Lusaka Business Exposition will be held on the 7th & 8th of May, the first day being a virtual event followed by an actual event at East Park Mall.
