ZESCO warns against staff recruitment impersonators

• Unscrupulous people purporting to be its employees are soliciting for Money from members of the public in exchange for employment.
• The fraudsters are also claiming to have information and connections within the power utility company.
• Members of the Public and victims of such scams to report these culprits to the company or any nearest Police station.

ZESCO Limited has warned members of the public against the purported ongoing staff recruitment operators.

ZESCO Public Relations Manager Hazel Zulu said the development comes after the country’s power utility firms has unearthed a scam in which unscrupulous people purporting to be its employees are soliciting for Money from members of the public in exchange for employment.

Mrs. Zulu noted the fraudsters are also claiming to have information and connections within the power utility company.

“We would like to emphasize that ZESCO Limited is an equal opportunity employer with well-structured employment systems and procedures and will at no time request potential applicants to make any payment during the recruitment process,” she said.

Mrs. Zulu urged members of the Public and victims of such scams to report these culprits to the company or any nearest Police station so they are brought to book.
