An Opposition Political Party says International Monitory Fund (IMF) will never take Zambia out of poverty.

Leadership Movement Party Media Director Tatila Tatila told Money FM news in a statement dubbed “GRZ/IMF press briefing confirms more poverty coming” that the only answer to poverty is Production through Agriculture and Manufacturing of Products.

Mr. Tatila said the new dawn government justification of increasing fuel prices will affect the economy and cost of production.

He pointed out that ministry of finance and its partners are sponsoring inequalities which will result into total poverty urging Zambians to “wake up, rise up and voice out.”

“As Leadership Movement, we know that Politicians get good salaries and allowances with free-tax but without shame they make lives of ordinary citizens worse,” said Mr. Tatila

According to him, “Politicians are very selfish individuals with no road map to fix the economy today the New Dawn Government are busy justifying the increase of fuel prices which will affect the economy and cost production.

His comment follows Government and the IMF having reached a staff-level agreement on a new arrangement under the Extended Credit Facility for a period of three years from 2022-2025, which will enable Government access $1.4billion.
