BTOAZ calls RTSA to enforce road safety ahead of Nc’wala

• Increased road travelling is expected
• Don’t drink and drive.
• Need for RTSA to enforce measures with increased presence of road enforcement officers.

Bus and Taxi Owners Association of Zambia (BTOAZ) has called on Road Transport and Safety Agency to enforce road safety rules ahead of N’cwala traditional ceremony in Eastern province to avoid road carnages along the Great East Road.

BTOAZ National Chair Person Amis Daudi told Money FM news in an interview that with Nc’wala Ceremony being a national event, increased road travelling is expected hence need for RTSA to enforce measures with increased presence of road enforcement officers to “create deterrent measures.”

Mr. Daudi further urged Motorist to ensure they only drive when they are sober on the road.
“Nc’wala Ceremony in Eastern province that is a national event there will be a lot of travelling there and the critical thing is to ensure that don’t drink and drive,” the Bus and Taxi Owners Association National Chairperson said.

He pointed out on need for motorists to ensure they look after each other with other road users by being a brother’s keeper.

The Nc’wala Ceremony celebrated the Ngoni Speaking people will take place in Chipata at Mutenguleni village on 26th February 2022.

However, the ceremony was last year canceled due to covid-19.

This year, Paramount Chief Mpezeni has invited President Hakainde Hichilema to grace the event.
