8 industrial yards completed, awaits commissioning by Govt

• CEEC is mobilizing funds to ensure that the remaining five industrial yards out of the eight become operational.
• Out of the eight industrial yards the commission has constructed across three industrial yards are operational.
• Small and Medium Enterprises and Entrepreneurs to apply for vacancies in these industrial yards once they are commissioned.

Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has revealed that it is mobilizing funds to ensure that the remaining five industrial yards out of the eight become operational.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, Commission Public Relations Officer and Communications Manager Michelo Mukata said out of the eight industrial yards the commission has constructed across the country, only the Mongu, Kasama, and Chipata industrial yards are operational.
Mr. Mukata explained that although the 8 industrial yards have been completed and await commissioning by Government.
“The Commission is proud to announce the completion of the construction process of eight industrial yards in Kafue, Chipata, Mongu, Ndola, Kitwe, Solwezi, Mansa, and Kasama districts,” he said.
He added that there is a significant amount of Money that Government has allocated to CEEC for empowerment which partly will be disbursed to Small and Medium Enterprise who will be operating in the yards for them to be fully operational.
Mr. Mukata however called on various Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Entrepreneurs to apply for vacancies in these industrial yards once they are commissioned.
The Eight industrial yards which are in Kafue, Chipata, Mongu, Ndola, Kitwe, Solwezi, Mansa, and Kasama districts are meant to meet the goal of enhancing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) competitiveness in the large manufacturing sub-sectors of metal fabrication.
