Luapula Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LUACCI) says it is currently engaging Government on the need to host an economic Indaba in the Province.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, Chamber President Emmanuel Musanje said once the Indaba is hosted, entrepreneurs in the area will benefit from the knowledge that will be shared by technical business experts who will attend the event, as there is an economic revolution in the region.
Mr. Musanje stated that this indaba also will present a great opportunity for Zambia to market her rich mineral resource and investment potential to the international community.
“The purpose of the show is to facilitate networking amongst people from various sectors of the travel industry and to showcase the latest economic-related products, “Mr. Musanje said.
He added that there is need for government to showcase economic benefits that all the provinces have to offer if the country’s economy is to be revived, unlike focusing on Lusaka Province only.
And Mr. Musanje revealed that a number of business owners in the Province have applied for soft loans under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to help revive their businesses that were negatively affected by Covid-19.
He expressed optimism that once Government approves the loan applications, businesses will stay afloat.
“During the time of Covid-19 pandemic a number of business owners were negatively affected by the disease as some chased out of the market due to economic hardships, the coming of CDF is a great opportunity for them to boost their businesses by applying for soft loan,” he stated.
