Trident Football Club strengthens squad with three key signings

Newly promoted Super League side Trident Football Club has signed Ugandan goalkeeper, Mathias Kigonya, from Kenyan Premier League outfit, Sofapaka FC, on a one-year contract.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper previously featured for Forest Rangers in the Zambian during the transitional League and was one of the standout performers before signing for Azam FC in the Tanzanian Premier League.

Trident has also signed 23-year-old left-back, Paul Katayi, from National League side Aguila Stars FC on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract on the 31st July 2022

Katayi managed to notch an impressive 9 assists and 3 goals for Aguila Stars last season.

The two signings are in addition to the latest capture of attacker, Joseph Mumbi’s signature from Mufulira Wanderers FC on a 2 year deal.

Mumbi managed to score 10 League goals and had over 10 assists to help Mufulira Wanderers secure promotion to the Super league.
