Indo Zambia Bank disburses K64 million under SAFF

  • Indo Zambia Bank has been actively involved in promoting sustainable agriculture through the credit facility.
  • The Bank has empowered a total of 2, 640 farmers.
  • It has processed and disbursed K180 million through the Constituency Development Fund Revolving Credit.

 

Indo Zambia Bank (IZB) has disclosed that it has disbursed K64 million under the Sustainable Agriculture financing facility (SAFF), benefiting over 2,000 farmers.

Speaking at a media briefing, Bank Managing Director, Kowdichar Shashidhar said the financial institution has been actively involved in promoting sustainable agriculture through the credit facility.

Mr. Shashidhar also revealed that the bank has processed and disbursed K180 million through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Revolving Credit facility which has supported over 2, 000 beneficiaries across the country.

He added that this empowerment is enabling the Government to implement its development agenda and programs across the country.

“Through this initiative, we have empowered a total of 2, 640 farmers, disbursing a substantial K64 million, thus enabling farmers to enhance productivity and contribute to food security,” Mr. Shashidar said.

He further revealed that the Financial Institution has also been actively supporting the Small and Medium Enterprises, (SMEs) as well as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, (MSMEs) sector and has extended finance of over K974 Million.

“In line with our environmental stewardship, Indo Zambia Bank has introduced innovative solutions such as Indo Green Asset Financing designed to support the acquisition of green assets, fostering environmentally friendly practices among our customers and within our community.”

“This initiative is consistent with our ESG policy and is born out of a recognition that economic growth and environmental sustainability are not mutually exclusive but are instead deeply interconnected,” he added.
