“LCC is deeply concerned about the recent trend of some traders opting to conduct business outside designated markets and in the central business district.”

“This move not only disrupts the orderly functioning of our markets but also poses a risk to public safety and creates congestion in the city,” Ms. Mwamba stated.

She cautioned all traders who choose to conduct business outside designated markets and in the central business district that the Council will continue to confiscate goods and will be left with no option but to take appropriate legal action against those found wanting.

“It is imperative that traders comply with the regulations set out by the Council to ensure orderliness and safety within our city.”

“The Council will not hesitate to take necessary measures to enforce compliance and maintain the integrity of our markets and central business district. We urge all traders to cooperate with the Council and conduct their business within designated areas,” she added.
