An Agriculture think tank is expecting that farming inputs for the 2019-2020 planting seasons will be delivered to all districts by the month end of October, 2019.
Kaypro Research Institute Chief Executive Officer Dr. Frank Kayula tells Money FM that timely distribution of farming inputs will assist small-scale farmers to be ready for the farming season thereby increasing crop production.
Dr. Kayula explains that reports in seven out of ten provinces participating in the direct farmer-input-support-program indicates that most depots have received the inputs in readiness for the planting season.
Minister of Agriculture Michael Katambo is quoted in the media saying about 90 percent of the farming inputs countrywide have been distributed for the 2019/2020 farming season.
